Abstract

Abstract The mainstays of orthognathic surgery are Le Fort I osteotomy of the maxilla, sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible, and genioplasty of the mandible. These procedures are described in this chapter together with the complications associated with them. The principles of distraction osteogenesis of the mandible and the indications for this procedure are also described.
