Land Protection System: What is the Government's Role in Addressing the Problem of Land Rights Ownership of Indigenous Peoples?

The land protection system for indigenous peoples is experiencing various problems, the Indonesian government is required to provide solutions and be fair in handling the status of ownership of customary land rights in accordance with applicable laws, the purpose of the study is to explain how the government's role in overcoming this problem. The research method used is normative law with a qualitative approach. The results of the study explain that national security must start by strengthening the basis of the rights of indigenous peoples to land, so that there is a high sense of awareness of the need for national resilience in maintaining the integrity of the nation and state for the Indonesian people, most of whom are in indigenous communities. That is, behind the high awareness of indigenous peoples in realizing national security lies the government's obligation to protect the rights of indigenous peoples to land.
