Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) is an annual aromatic herb of great economic importance. Seven cultivars were cultivated in the area of Târgu Mureș in 2017. The biomass fractions, drying ratio and drug percent were compared, respectively the volatile oil content of the cultivars was determined and the major compounds of the VO identified using GC-MS method.
