Abstract
Aircraft servicing or Maintenance is a critical environment that must be given due consideration because it is directly related to passenger safety. As a consequence, maintenance operations are crucial in assessing the aircraft’s fitness. Since any aircraft’s structural failure can result in fatalities, vehicle health management is critical in the aviation industry to prevent and detect structural damage at an early stage. This study examines the literature on how prognostics have been used to improve the Maintenance of aircraft and discusses the study limitations for improving aircraft maintenance in the commercial aviation industry. Moreover, it highlights the state of the art in the application of prognostics to enhance maintenance of aircraft is then double-checked, possible opportunities and issues are explained and investigated. Additionally, it shad alight on the big prospect of the Methodologies and Techniques for Predicting Remaining Useful Life and future directions for further research.
