Abstract

Nine chemical and control treatments were evaluated on a 11 year old sward of Penncross® creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris) at the Guelph Turfgrass Institute in Guelph, Ontario during May to September 2004 for control of dollar spot disease (caused by Sclerotinia homoeocarpa). The treatments were applied over a 12-week period. Disease was monitored over a 16-week period to examine residual effects. Daconil 2787 EC (190 mL - 14 days), Daconil 2787 EC+BannerMaxx(190 mL+30mL-14days) and Daconil Ultrex 82.5W + Banner Maxx (115.2 g + 30 mL - 14 days), Daconil 2787 EC + Rovral GreenGT(190mL+62mL-14days)and Daconil Ultrex 82.5W + Rovral Green GT(115.2 g + 62 mL - 14 days) Daconil 2787 EC + Primo MAXX(190+mL+2mL-14days)andDaconil Ultrex 82.5W + Primo MAXX (115.2 g + 2 mL - 14 days) achieved excellent results throughout the trial, not exceeding our aesthetically acceptable value of 5 spots/m2 until more than 14 days after the previous treatment. No phytotoxicity was observed during the trial.
