Abstract
We do detailed network assessment in this study by designing many scenarios (using various topologies) to investigate the influence of various parameters at the MAC and application layers, such as rate of data transmit, delay, throughput and end to end delay In a ZigBee (sensor/actuator) network, there are three potential topologies. The goal of this article is to use wireless devices in industrial applications for NCSs.To achieve this, industrial area was chosen (Al-Rustumiya old project station (ROPS)) to implement and simulate the proposed network and demonstrate the impact of these parameters by (Using OPNET IT Guru Academic Edition) network simulation tool. The goal is to show the impact of Zigbee network parameters in the two layers (Mac and PHY) on the (sensor gather data) to the control center and return a control signal to a controller device (actuator) set to perform a specific function in an attempt to achieve the highest performance in industrial systems. Using a single fixed Zigbee coordinator, the three ZigBee topologies (star, mesh, and cluster-tree) were evaluated ( ZC). Due to measured metrics (Average end to end latency, Average Data lost rate (bits/second) that revealed maximum results for star topology, the results suggested that star topology is more efficient and better suited for IEEE 802.15.4/ ZigBee standard than mesh and star topologies.
