A Study of Ideological and Political Education in Comprehensive English

Curriculum ideological and political education refers to a kind of comprehensive education concept which aims to construct a pattern of educating students by the whole staff, during the whole process, and in all courses to make various courses and ideological and political theory courses be in the same direction to form a synergistic effect. It is advocated that all courses in universities have the dual functions of imparting knowledge and training ability and ideological and political education, carrying the role of cultivating university students' world outlook, outlook on life, and values. It is an important measure for universities to construct an ideological and political education system. This article takes the Comprehensive English course as an example, combined with specific teaching cases, and discusses how to take use of Comprehensive English to tap the ideological and political elements in the course to cultivate the comprehensive application ability of English majors and at the same time implement ideological and political education, and then enhance the ideological and humanistic nature of teaching, deepen the connotation of teaching, enhance the effectiveness of teaching, and achieve the goal of education.
