Abstract

A definite need arises at the high school level for courses that can be offered as alternatives to precalculus for juniors and seniors. The typical mathematics sequence for the college-bound student offers a sequence of algebra and geometry courses that aims the student toward precalculus or calculus. If the student is not inclined toward following this sequence for one reason or another, few alternatives are then available.
