Abstract
Appendicitis is one of the major public health problems in general. In Indonesia alone, appendicitis is a fourth most general disease. Highest incidence found in males aged 10-14 years, and women aged 15-19 years. If appendicitis is not treated immediately, it will result in a fairly severe complications, which can lead to perforation. The incidence of perforation in appendicitis is 20 30%.Based on the research results, perforated appendix is commonin men as many women as much as 38.7% and 23.5%. According to Korner H in the World Journal of Surgery 1997, appendicitis perforation occurred at the age of child and adults and does not depend on gender. Perforations that occur, can be seen in one or more sections of the appendix. Judging from the anatomicaspect, appendix is divided into three parts, the base, middle and end. The purpose of this study is to describe the incidence of perforated appendicitis and find aperforation location that often occurs in patients diagnosed as perforated appendicitis in RSPAD Gatot Subroto Jakarta on January-December 2011. This research using cross sectional design. The samples are 32 respondents with atotal samplingtechniques. Data collection using medical records. Research results showed thatthe incidence of perforated appendicitis on the patients diagnosed as appendicitis in RSPAD Gatot Subroto is 12,4 % from the total patients diagnosed with acuteappendicitis, and perforation of the appendix location in the center found with afrequency of 22 cases with a percentage of 68.8%. The next most founded are at the distal with the frequency found on 7 cases and a percentage of 21.9%. Perforation location of the appendix at the base part is found with the smallest percentage which is founded on 9.4% patients with the number of frequencies as much as 3 cases. Perforation of the appendix in the middle section mostly experienced at the age of 11-20 years by 7 patients and the smallest is at the age of 31-40, 41-50, 51-60 years by 2 patients. Perforation of the appendix at the base part mostlyexperienced at the age of 11-20 years by 2 patients and patients aged 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60 years non perforation. Perforation at theend mostly experienced by patients ages 1-10 years by 3 patients and patients aged 11-20, 21-30,31-40,41-50, 51-60 years each had perforation in 1 patient.
