Abstract

Abstract Treatments were applied on 2 and 8 Aug to ‘DES 119’ cotton in Lonoke County, AR using a Spirit high clearance sprayer equipped with a CO2 powered system for spraying small plots. The sprayer was calibrated to deliver 13 gal/acre at 50 psi through TX-6 hollowcone nozzles on a 19-inch spacing. Plots were 2, 38-inch rows, 50 ft long arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Evaluations were made 4 DAT using a hand-lens to count the number of aphids on a total of 3.6-inches2 of leaf area on the upper portion of the cotton plants in the center 2 rows in each plot.
