Abstract
Abstract The vision and method adopted by Al-Biruni and Miskawayhin their historiography bear certain similarities and distinctions which form the hypothesis of the present paper. These points of alignment or misalignment could be considered both inthe method of reaching the truth in the historical studies of these two historians and their historical vision. Unrelated research grounds and adopting rationalistic reasoning in interpreting historical events and the like are someplans for comparison. It seems that the discourse, the research fields, and the lived experiences of these figures have profoundly influenced their historical attitudes. Historiographical approaches of Abu Ali Miskawayh, which inclined towards perceiving power relations, were more political and functional. However, culture and its sub-branches were dominant in Al-Biruni'shistorical studies. The present research, through adopting a comparative-descriptive-analytic approach, attempts to clarify these visions in historical studies.
