The first issue of the weekly newspaper appeared on February 2, 1913 in Orenburg. Since 1915, she began to go out twice a week. And immediately won widespread recognition. She was discharged in all corners of Kazakhstan, then still in the Steppe and Turkestan territories, or in nine regions and one province (Astrakhan), as it was written in No. 8 of the newspaper “Kyr balasy” (“Son of the steppes” - the pseudonym of Alikhan Bukeikhan) in an article devoted to the number of Kazakhs at that time. An important milestone in the annals of the Kazakh people is the appearance of the socio-political newspaper Kazakh, which was the political center of the leading Kazakh intelligentsia.The newspaper, expressing the interests of the Kazakh people, was its tribune, a human rights activist. The newspaper was the organizer of the political work of the progressive national intelligentsia, the result of which was the development of tactics and strategies for the struggle for independence. The newspaper had a party orientation. The Alash-Orda National Party was formed under the influence of the ideas of the Kazakh newspaper.
