Abstract
The flora of Kharazmi University campus has significant vegetation. KharazmiUniversity with an area of 212 hectares is located in northwest of Karaj, in the Alborzprovince of Iran. Minimum and maximum altitudes of this area are 1280 and 1312 m,respectively. In this research, for the first time, the flora composition, chorology, lifeforms, and endemic species in this region are investigated. In results of this study, 170species belonging to 140 genera and 33 families were recognized. The following familieshave the highest number of species: Asteraceae with 37 species, Poaceae with 19 species,Brassicaceae with 15 species, Fabaceae with 15 species, and Boraginaceae with 9 species.Life forms using Rounkierʼs method were included therophytes (58.82% ),hemicryptophytes (28.24%), chamaephytes (4.71%), geophyte (3.53%) cryptophytes(2.94%), phanerophytes (1.18%) and parazit (1.17% ). In total species identified in thearea 75.88% of the chorological elements belong to Irano-Turanian floristic region and2.94% all plant recognized in the area were endemic plant species of Iran.
