Abstract
Water, and its related resources, are important considerations in the planning and locating of highways and their appurtenant facilities. The various methods are described in this chapter to estimate the quantity of runoff required for an effective drainage design. The surface drainage for storm water, and hydraulic structures for flood water, are to be designed to ensure long lasting and hazard free road usage.
