Interaction of chains and sprockets. Das Zusammenwirken von Ketten und Kettenraedern

Abstract

The chain is subject to deformations leading essentially to changes in pitch because of the operating conditions. The running-in process depends on the pitch of the chain and sprocket and the design of the chain-recesses as well as the friction condition. The running-in process leads to wear on the chain and sprocket. The force in the engaged chain recesses is reduced positively and leads to movements of the chain links in the chain recess. Test benches are available for investigation of design modifications on the round-link chain drive. 11 refs., 7 figs.
