Effect of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation on diabetic cataract treatment

Abstract

Objective: To observe the effect of phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens \nimplantation on inflammatory factors, oxidative stress reaction and the hemorheology in \npatients with diabetic cataract, for helping clinical treatment of patients with diabetic cataract. \nMethods: A total of 160 diabetic cataract patients in our hospital were selected and randomly \ndivided into observation group and control group, each group were 80 cases, control group \nwas treated with conventional therapy, observation group was treated with phacoemulsification \ncombined with intraocular lens implantation based on conventional therapy, the changes of \ninflammatory factors, oxidative stress reaction and the hemorheology were detected before \nand after treatment. Results: The difference of inflammatory factors, oxidative stress reaction \nand the hemorheology in the two groups before treatment was not statistically significant \n(P>0.05). Inflammatory factors (IL-2, IL-6, hs-CRP and TNF-α ), MDA in both groups after \ntreatment significantly increased compared with that before treatment.; oxidative stress reaction \nparameters (CAT, SOD, GSH-Px), hemorheology parameters (WHV, WLV, PV) in both \ngroups after treatment significantly decreased compared with that before treatment. Changes in \nPCV and FIB in two groups after treatment was not statistically significant compared with that \nbefore treatment (P>0.05). MDA, Inflammatory factors (IL-2, IL-6, , hs-CRP and TNF-α ) and \nhemorheology parameters (WHV, WLV, PV) in observation group after treatment decreased \nmore significantly than that in control group (P<0.05). oxidative stress reaction parameters \n(CAT, SOD, GSH-Px) in observation group after treatment increased more significantly \nthan that in control group (P<0.05). PCV and FIB had no significant changes (P>0.05). \nConclusions: Phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation could improve \ninflammatory factors, oxidative stress reaction parameters and hemorheology parameters in \ndiabetic cataract patients, and help clinical treatment of diabetic cataract patients.
