Abstract Information about the wastes of chromium ferroalloy production in the Russian Federation, their characteristics, and composition is given. The fractional compositions of powdered slags and dust are studied. The true densities of self-disintegrating slags and dust are determined by the picnometric method. New data on the viscosity and solidification temperature of the slag and dust melts of ferrochrome production are obtained, and their phase composition is studied.
