Abstract

Dalit Entrepreneurship is a recent phenomenon and it has been recognized as an important tool for empowerment of socially depressed classes. By establishing new ventures, dalit entrepreneurs generate new jobs for themselves and also for others along with that they provide society with different solutions to management, organization and business problems. The emergence of entrepreneurship among the Scheduled castes and Scheduled tribes may be understood as a result of the capitalistic development of the Country, alongside their own initiative, hard work and innovativeness. There are many institutions supporting dalit entrepreneurs through different schemes. This study focuses on the role of different institutions in promotion of Dalit entrepreneurship in Karnataka and perception of Dalit unemployed youths about Entrepreneurship.
