Abstract

This paper reports on a W-band (75GHz-110GHz) balanced diode mixer using lower power of LO signal. The mixer operates in a fundamental mixing mode. Both RF signal and LO signal are all fed via WR-10 waveguide. The frequency of IF signal can be up to 20GHz. The conversion loss of the mixer is about 8dB ~10dB over the entire 75GHz-110GHz. The mixer reported in the paper can work with lower power of LO signal when it is supplied with a bias voltage. The structure of the mixer is simple and the hybrid integrated circuit is easy to manufacture. The balanced diode mixer has already been used to extend frequency of spectrum analyzers and vector network analyzers.
