Abstract
In recent years, cement kiln construction has followed two independent trends. On one hand large kilns producing 8000 or more tonnes/ day are being constructed, on the other hand 3000 tonnes/day kilns on two roller stations are becoming standard. Both trends, of course, follow regional developments in demand and reflect developments which directly affect the refractory kiln lining. (authors)
