남(南)ㆍ북한(北韓) 무용사(舞踊史)의 비교(比較)

In comparison between South and North Korean dance histories, the characteristics of south and North Korean dances can be summarized as follows. (1) South Korean dance art First, choreographers` autonomy has been guaranteed as much as possible. Second, dance form has been classified into various genres of Korean and foreign dances as well as traditional and creative works. Third, dance works have been applied in various ways according to their characteristics with regard to the size of theatrical facilities and selection of music. (2) North Korean dance art First, autonomous expression of choreographers` will has been impossible as themes are selected on the basis of idolatrous praise of the absolute ruler and his intentions. Second, dance techniques through realistic expression have been used after absorption of foreign dances such as Chinese folk dance and Russian ballets. Third, as for the size of dance, performance at large theaters is preferred and the combined technipues of music, songs and dances are used in order to attain their revolutionary and demagogic goals.
