Abstract
Abstract The examination of frequency distributions of categorical variables often involves an evaluation of the appropriateness of probability models.Goodness‐of‐fitstatistics are suitable for this task. These statistics assess the discrepancy between the data and a probability model. Applications focus on (1) overall goodness‐of‐fit and (2) individual residuals. This entry describes the most frequently used goodness‐of‐fit statistics and presents an application in the context of logistic regression.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
