Recovery of geothermal energy from oil reservoir aquifers

Abstract

There are many oil reservoir aquifers in the world where fairly high temperatures occur. Consequently such reservoirs contain considerable geothermal energy. This work considers the possibility of recovery of such energy. When reservoir pressure is maintained by means of peripheral waterflooding, a simultaneous production of oil and hot water is possible with no loss for oil recovery. 12 references.
