Abstract

Abstract Optres Rotation is a three‐stage procedure for obtaining oblique rotations used to transform vectors associated with principal component analysis or factor analysis to simple structure . The first stage will be an orthogonal rotation such as Varimax . The second will be an oblique rotation such as Promax . The third rotation requires, for each vector, a specification of which coefficients are to be maximized and which are to be minimized. A numerical example is included.
