Abstract

Based on the idea of configuration theory, this study applies qualitative comparative analysis method to explore the improvement path of project management performance. The study found that there are four combined paths to achieve high project management performance; the project manager's empowerment behavior that produces high project management performance has complementary effects and substitution effects. The research conclusions promoted the transformation of project management performance research from a single-dimensional perspective to a holistic perspective, and provided engineering project managers with a new way to improve project management performance.
