Negative Transfer of Mother Tongue in English Writings of English Majors in Independent Colleges: Based on the Error Analysis with the Help of Correction Funciton of Microftword

In recent years, many researchers have studied the mode of thinking and the negative transfer of mother tongue that affect students' English writing, but little research has been done on independent college students. The author conducts the research on the students in Li Jiang College of GXNU which is an independent college. Based on the theories of Language Transfer, Contrastive Analysis, Error Analysis, the author attempts to study how negative transfer of Chinese influences EFL (English as a foreign language) learner in independent colleges on their English writing competence by analyzing the errors occurring in their English compositions with the help of correction function of Microsoft Word.
