Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of locus of control, organizational justice, and organizational commitment on employee engagement and employee performance as well in Palembang, South Sumatra. The research is explanatory and takes a quantitative approach. The method of data collection used a questionnaire containing the variables and documentation outlined by the study. The research questions were tested using hypothetical compliance scenarios, with 450 persons from 25 national private banks in Palembang as participants. The researchers used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach. Results of the research showed that (1) LoC has an effect on employee engagement; (2) organizational justice has an effect on employee engagement; (3) organizational commitment has an effect on employee engagement; (4) LoC has no effect on employee performance; (5) organizational justice has no effect on employee performance; (6) organizational commitment has an effect on employee performance and (10) employee engagement an effect on employee performance.
