Abstract

Treatment with peginterferon alfa-2aalone produces significantly higher sustained virologicresponses than treatment with interferon alfa-2a alonein patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infec-tion. We compared the efficacy and safety of peginter-feron alfa-2a plus ribavirin, interferon alfa-2b plus ri-bavirin, and peginterferon alfa-2a alone in the initialtreatment of chronic hepatitis C.
