Abstract

This monograph is designed to enrich the database for persons seeking to learn more about viable approaches for facilitating career development in organizations. Suggestions are given for assisting individuals to chart their careers in the company and helping organizations to develop and utilize human resources more effectively. Several topics are dealt with in depth, such as career development strategies, career change, and executive assessment. The Career Development Diamond is introduced with its four component parts: career catalyzing, career exploration, career management, and career pathing. In another chapter, the significance of data gathering in the self-exploration process is stressed. A new perspective on the use of assessment centers for organizational or individual development is also presented.
