Abstract

Abstract Object-oriented techniques are increasingly regarded as important in the development of computer software products. The consensus is usually that deployment of these techniques lies somewhere in the future. This article points out the uses of object-oriented techniques that have existed for more than 25 years in CAD/CAM systems, although not generally referred to in such terms, and future uses that are crucial to advanced development.
