Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of oxaliplatin combined with 5-fiuorouracil and leucovorin in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer. Methods Forty patients with advanced gastric cancer were treated with chemotherapy of regimen:oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 d,ivgtt,d1;LV 200 mg/m2 ivgtt 2h followed by 5-Fu 400 mg/m2 (bolus) and 5-Fu 600 mg/m2(22h-coutinous infusion) d1,2 and repeated every 2 weeks,4 weeks for one cycle. All patients received two cycles of chemotherapy at least.Efficacy was evaluated after 4 cycles. Results 3 patients achieved complete remission (CR),17 patients partial remission (PR),13 patients stable disease(SD),7 patients progression disease(PD). Overall response rate was 50.0%.The median time to progression (mTTP) was 5.7 months. The median survival time (MST) was 9.8 months. The major toxicity included leucopenia, nausea, vomiting and neurosensory abnormity. Conclusion It was concluded that the regimen of FOLFOX4 is effective and tolerable in advanced gastric cancer.
