TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF NONUNION OF RADIUS AND ULNA IN CHILDREN

[Objective] To investigate the treatment and preventive measures of nonunion of radius and ulna in children.[Methods] 32 cases of children with nonunion of the radius and ulna were selected,they have underwent different inner fixations,autologous bone graft,bone substitutes,interosseous membrane relaxation,local skin flap transfer and other comprehensive treatment,they also had the timely and functional exercise after surgeries.[Results] Among the 32 cases,all of the nonunion bones were bone healed,the internal installed objects were fixed without loosening and fracture,the function of forearm was fully recovered.[Conclusion] The correctly choose the methods of fixation,autogenous bone graft,bone substitutes,relaxation of interosseous membrane and local flap transfer,also the timely functional exercise are effective ways of treating the nonunion of the radius and ulna in children.The important parts of prevent nonunion of the radius and ulna in children included rational choice of internal fixation,reducing local tissue damage,prevention of infection and timely exercise.
