Abstract

Al-PYROXENE in nature may be regarded as garnet solid solution in Al-free pyroxene. The transition from Al-pyroxene to garnet + Al-poor pyroxen can be carried out under high-pressure conditions. Ultrahigh-pressure experiment on pyroxene-garnet transition was carried out in this work using natural soecimens to exolain the genesis of garnet peridotite.
