Abstract

China′s sex ratio at birth has experienced rapid increase since 1980s which significantly impact the future development of China′s population.This paper uses projections for the future population to study the impacts of high sex ratio at birth to the size of population,the size of births,the total population dependency ratio as well as the marriage squeeze.The Results show that high sex ratio at birth will reduce the size of the population and accelerate the process of population aging as well as causing marriage squeeze etc.
