Abstract

Working paper on the agrarian structure and rural area poverty in Honduras - describes role of the banana plantations in the evolution of the agricultural sector; examines trends in farm size, land tenure, land utilization, crop yields, agricultural employment on large and small farms and by employment status, household income, etc.; discusses the impact of agrarian reforms carried out after 1972 on living conditions and agricultural incomes. Bibliography and statistical tables.
