Abstract

Vacuum extraction and forceps delivery are two main assisted vaginal delivery methods used in the second stage of labor. Vacuum-assisted delivery is easier to perform and less damage to mother, but the extraction power is small and may cause more cephalohematoma of infants. Though forceps delivery leads more maternal trauma, the forceps traction is precise and can be used in emergency.
