Abstract
With bone marrow preparing chromosome method, BSG technique and a new Ag-NORs staining method, the conventional karyotype, C-bands and Ag-NORs bands of Rhacophorus chenfui Liu were studied. Results indicate that the diploid number of Rh. chenfui is 2n=26, which consists of 5 pairs of large, 8 pairs of small chromosomes; the secondary constriction is appeared at the terminal position of the long arm of chromosome No. 11 and it is also the position of the standard NORs. Chromosome C-banding shows that the heterochromatins of Rh. chenfui are located on the centromeric and pericentromeric regions and the secondary constriction is C-banding negatively stained. Jt is peculiar, for Rh. chenfui hiving 7 pairs of sm (Nos. 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, 13) chromosomes and so many interstitial C-bands. The cytotaxono-my and the relationship of secondary constriction, Ag-stained NORs and the C-bands of Rh. chenfui are discussed.
