Abstract

Objective Using black-diaphragm intraocular lens implantation in management of traumatic aniridia combined with aphakia in order to eleminate the severe symptom of photophobia and to improve visual acuity. Methods Using black-diaphragm intraocular lens produced by Morcher Company(Germany) in primary and secondary intraocular lens implantation in 8 cases of traumatic aniridia combined with aphakia. Results Certain degree decrease in photophobia symptom and visual acuity improvement were observed in all cases after surgery. Conclusion Black-diaphragm intraocular lens implantation is an effective technique with practical in management of traumatic aniridia combined with aphakia, yet the post operative complications should be noted.
