Abstract
The effect of semiochemicals from 63 species plants on peach aphid (M. persicae) and mustard aphid (L. erysimi) was investigated. The deterrent rate, reproduction deterrent index and the interference index of population control (IIPC) were used to evaluate the effects of semiochemicals on population control of the two target aphids in laboratory. The results of the experiments showed that the extracts of many common plants have noticeable effect on both aphids. The deterrent rates of the extract from Xanthium sibiricum and Syngonium podophyllum to M. persicae and L. erysimi were 0.481 and 0.557, 0.452 and 0.615, respectively. The extracts of these plants could be used to construct the plant protectant to protect crops.
