Abstract
The Bt toxic protein in transgenic Bt cotton provided effective control of cotton bollworm and other lepidopteran pests, so it can offer powerful protection to the cotton plants from insect damage. The expression of Bt toxin in transgenic cotton shows obvious spatio-temporal dynamic variation because of the intrinsic and exoteric factors. The transgenic Bt cotton also affects the non-target insects and the environment besides having a powerful effect on target pests. In addition, the Bt resistance in cotton pests and the resistance management strategies are also been discussed.
