Abstract

There are two kinds of molecular containing histone deacetylase activity: One is homology with with yeast RPD3, and another is not homology with yeast RPD3. These deacetylases have different sources, exit in different complex, and catalyze different histone or other proteins deacetylation; There are close relationship between deacetylases and the regulation of gene transcription, especially repression of gene transcription.
