A depiction of four examples of state sponsored violence:[p]1.The Chinese government massacre of students at Tian An Meu Square[p]2.China's Subjugation of Tibet[p]3.The repression of the Kurds by Saddam Hussein[p]4.South Africa's domestic terror for over 40 plus years against its black population[p]In each of these cases, the ruling elite used different forms and degrees of violence to suppress challenges to state authority.
