Abstract

[Objective] To establish the method of detecting benzoic acid, sorbic acid, dehydroacetic acid in foods at the same time by the use of gas chromatography (GC). [Methods] Benzoic acid, sorbic acid, and dehydroacetic acid in foods were detected by GC after extracted by aether. [Results] This method detected benzoic acid, sorbic acid, dehydroacetic acid with fine resolution. The relative standard deviation was 2.37%、 2.72%、 2.03% respectively. The average recovery was 99.80%、 98.77%、 100.14% respectively. The detection limit was 1.2μg, 1.1μg, 1.0μg respectively. No disturbance by saccharin sodium was found in the process. [Conclusion] This method is validated in terms of sensitivity, accuracy, and selectivity, in the detection of benzoic acid, sorbic acid, dehydroacetic acid in foods.
