Abstract
In this paper, the litterfall dynamics of a seasonal rain forest and a rubber plantation in Xishuangbanna was studied. The results show that there were two litterfall peaks annually in the forest and the plantation. The leaf decomposition rate was faster than that of branch in the two communities. The litterfall in the rubber plantation was 9 85t·hm -2 ·a -1 ,more than 8 42 t·hm -2 ·a -1 in the seasonal rain forest The decomposition rate of litterfall in the rubber plantation was 2 25,faster than 2 0 in the seasonal rain forest.
