Abstract
[Objective]To understand the level of HIV /AIDS knowledge and attitude of workers in construction sites, and to explore an appropriate pattern of health education and intervention in this population. [Methods] 350 workers in construction sites were randomly selected in Beijing, and their basic knowledge and attitude of HIV/AIDS was investigated. [Results] All subjects were male, and the majority of them (78.5%) had middle school education level. The level of AIDS knowledge in the workers with high school education was significantly higher than that of the other workers. Logistic regression analysis showed that high knowledge of AIDS was the main factor to positive attitude. [Conclusion] Most of the workers are young and mid-aged. Most of them have negative attitude to HIV/AIDS. The AIDS related health education could improve the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS.
