CURRENT STATE AND PROSPECTS OF THE GENERATIVE DESIGN TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION IN CONSTRUCTION

Abstract

The authors consider the use of generative design technology for solving construction issues. Generative design is seen as an information technology that works with cross-cutting digital technologies including additive technologies and artificial intelligence. There are several ways to apply generative design technology to optimize the shape, structure and topology of objects. It is noted that there are just individual examples of solving architectural and constructional applied tasks using generative design technology. The problems of widespread implementation of the technology, including information modeling of construction objects (BIM), are discussed. Approaches to solving some problems of design, construction and operation with the use of generative design technology are proposed. It is concluded that generative design technology can be used in the process of information modeling of a construction object throughout its whole life cycle.
