Scanning electron microscopic observation of sensilla on the antenna of male adult Scopula subpunctaria

Abstract

The ultra-structure of the sensilla on the antenna of male adult Scopula subpunctaria HerrichSchaeffer was observed with a scanning electron microscope.Three types of sensilla were found,trichoid,sensilla squamiformi and sensillum chaeticum.The shape,category,physiological function and distribution of these different types of sensilla are discussed.
