特発性血小板減少性紫斑病（免疫性血小板減少症：ITP）は自己免疫性疾患の一つで，基礎疾患や原因の明らかな免疫性血小板減少症を除外する形で診断される．これまで副腎皮質ステロイドと脾摘がITP治療の主体であったが，ヘリコバクターピロリ菌の除菌療法やリツキシマブの有効性が明らかとなり，さらにはエビデンスに基づいた新たなITP治療薬としてトロンボポエチン受容体作動薬が登場し，ITPの治療戦略は大きな変貌を遂げつつある．
