Abstract
Nodularization of eutectic in austenite-bainite steel modified by Mg and Al have been investigated by means of TEM,SEM and EPMA.Results show that the nodular eutectic is pseudo-eutectic of austenite and Fe3C, which is formed between austenite dendrites at the end of the solidification because of the segregation of C, Mn and Si. Nodularization of eutectic can be explained for heterogeneous nuclei and influence of modifying elements on the crystallization of the eutectic.
