M. cephalanthum subsp. montanumis a endemic subspecies which grows on steppe and rock slopes of NorthernAnatolia. In this study, anatomical and micromorphological characters of Marrubium cephalanthum Boiss. & Noesubsp. montanum Akgül & Ketenoğluwere observed. In anatomical studies,cross-sections of the root, stem, leaf and the surface sections of leaves weredetermined. It was observed that the root of the investigated taxon had asecondary thickening. Collenchyma layer in stem was prominent. The leaf isdorsiventral and amphistomatic. For the micromorphological studies, the driedstem, leaf, calyx and nutlet samples were examined using scanning electronmicroscope (SEM). Eglandular trichomes were mostly observed on the stem, leafand calyx. Glandular trichomes are present more sparsely on these organs ofinvestigated taxon. In addition, the nutlet surface is reticulate.
